Heartsaver AED - Training

Automated External Defibrillator is a computerised device, which has the capability to:

  • Analyse the heart rhythm of a person in cardiac arrest.
  • Recognise a shockable rhythm.
  • Advise the operator whether the rhythm should be shocked.
  • Save many Lives, if used within minutes of an arrest.

Up to recently in Ireland the AED was only used by Healthcare Professionals ( Doctors and Ambulance Personnel ), but we now see PUBLIC ACCESS DEFIBRILLATION, where the AED, and lay people trained in it's use, are at locations where people gather:

* Factories * Shopping Centres * Sports Facilities * Clubs

This gives you three of the four links in the Chain of Survival

The course includes:

- Scene management
- Bleeding & Wounds
- Shock - Fractures
- Soft tissue injuries
- Unconsciousness
- Burns
- Poisons
- Medical Emergencies
- Respiration
- Adult C.P.R.
